Our Mission
The Baca County Economic Development Commission
promotes responsible, sustainable  development and growth
through the expansion and or retention of the county's
agricultural business, educational and recreational resources.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy closely follows our mission; our goal is to promote a higher quality
of life for the residents of the county through the creation of a foundation on which
to build economic development.  This includes programs that help to recognize our
businesses for the services that they provide us, creating an environment where
youth and residents are encouraged to be entrepreneurial, establishing a way to
capture some of the communities wealth for the benefit of the community through
the  Baca County Community Foundation, encouraging people to shop local for
the benefit of their communities, supporting ideas and feasibility studies, stepping
in to make key community assets possible such as the Capitol Theater, and
representing the communities of the county at regional groups.  

In short we promote sustainable, responsible development, the kind where the the
community and the people have control and not an outside mega-company.
